Willow LaLand

Renowned Painting Artist in Sonoma County, CA

Individually painted grass-heads, crystal clear reflections in glass, deep velvety shadows, intricate wood grain, … I love to capture sensations– the taste of the wine, the stories being told, the breeze through the vineyard.

From the sharp sparkling crystal that draws in your eye to the soft abstract backgrounds that shimmers, "Evening" speaks to the artist's innate talent as well as her mastery of the skills.

Stories of Achievements

LaLand moved to north county in 2006 to start a family as well as for the art and wine influence of the area. She said her work is centered around her passion for wine tasting.

The wonderful thing about art is what you get to share with other people. The stories and their relationship to the painting, is where our paths cross, said LaLand.

Willow LaLand

Third- Generation Artist

Willow LaLand was born in 1973 as a third-generation artist. Surrounded by creativity and many different mediums, she learned through observation and serious practice starting at ten. She wanted to develop her unique approach that combined all the disciplines of painting she had experimented with. As a result, she often uses many layers associated with abstract painting in her hyper-realistic work because it helps her achieve a 3–D effect.

The Fauve Series

Her "Fauve" series came about because people purchased her under-paintings in the bright color palette "before she even started." Willow credits one singular painting she came across as a girl as her single most inspiring influence. A life-size hunting painting by nineteenth-century painter John Frederick Peto is so realistic it feels like you can plunge your fingers into the swans.

Years of Experiences

She has spent four decades honing the ability "to put you there." Her paintings are about invoking the senses, how color affects mood, and enjoying life. Please feel free to check out my collection.
